Dear Colleagues,
The Tolstoy Studies Journal, a peer-reviewed publication issued by the North American Tolstoy Society is accepting submissions for the 2018 issue beginning now and continuing until June 1, 2018.
We welcome scholarly essays in the 7000-8000 word range about a variety of topics that advance the study of Tolstoy. We want the journal to be as inclusive as possible and reflect a wide variety of voices. To that end, we encourage junior scholars (in the US as well as Canada and Europe) to submit their work. We also urge underrepresented scholars in the field to consider submitting. We welcome any and all approaches to Tolstoy, particularly any potentially underrepresented approaches, including, but not limited to gender/queer theory, disability studies, critical/race ethnicity theories. As always, we welcome interdisciplinary research encompassing literature and other disciplines like history, the visual arts and architecture, political science, philosophy, economics, non-Russian literary traditions, as well as new modalities like Digital Humanities and quantitative analysis.
A new call for submissions for personal reflections for the blog is also forthcoming.
